This curriculum provides a course of study for learning the skills needed to teach the theory and practice of cosmetology as required by the North Carolina Board of Cosmetic Arts.
Course work includes requirements for becoming an instructor, introduction to teaching theory, methods and aids, practice teaching and development of evaluation instruments.
Graduates of the program may be employed as cosmetology instructors in public or private education and business.
In addition to the courses listed below, students may be required to take developmental courses based on placement guidelines. These courses do not count toward the credit hours needed for graduation.
COS 271, COS 272, COS 273, and COS 274: This curriculum is offered on an individual basis in fall and spring semester, based on student demand and waiting list.
